How to Build Massive Website Traffic
When it comes to building a home-based business, it’s important to learn how to build traffic to your website. Without traffic to your website, it’s impossible to build a substantial profitable home-based business. There are numerous ways to get people to visit your website, but for our purposes I am only going to discuss proven methods that yield results.
The first and probably the most widely known way to build website traffic are through pay-per-click campaigns with Google and Yahoo. Pay-per-click advertising works in that the user pays a bid amount for a specific keyword. The highest bidder has their website appear higher up in the search engines so that when their keyword is searched, it’s likely their ad will appear first. There is a catch though, every time someone clicks on your ad, you will pay the amount you bid for that keyword. It’s important to find niche keywords that are not saturated, and at the same time not dead either.
Another way to build decent website traffic and to get your home based business noticed is to post in free classified ads. Free classified ads do work, and running a search in either Google or Yahoo, you will find some places to post. Some places charge a small fee to post your ad for a bit more exposure. There are thousands of free classifieds, I recommend testing them before paying any additional money. Two really good places to look into are www.craigslist.org and www.backpage.com.
Mass e-mail mailings have worked in the past and they still work to an extent today. In order to see any results with mass e-mailing lists, it usually requires mailing thousands depending on the quality of the list. There are services available online that will sell e-mail lists, but be careful where you buy from, only a few of them actually send your e-mail to real people. Again testing is the key to growing your home-based business.
Article writing is a great way to get your website in front of thousands for free. Writing articles and optimizing them with specific keywords that may pertain to your business is a great way to build quality website traffic. When you have completed your article, submit them to article directories with a link to your website attached in the resource box.
Many other techniques are used to generate website traffic. In this article I only touched a few of them very briefly. In order to become successful with a home-based business it does require a little research and will require people visiting your website. There are quality programs available online that will teach proven techniques to building website traffic and advertising your business. The key to applying any of these techniques and methods above is test, test and test again.

15 Link Exchange Tips
Establishing inbound links through reciprocal link exchanges is a very effective promotional and advertising tool. If done correctly, building inbound links can improve your rankings in the search engines by raising your link popularity, increasing your website traffic, and providing a valuable resource for your website customers and visitors. Here are 15 link exchange tips to get you started:
1. Exchange links with websites that will bring you targeted traffic. Targeted traffic means visitors and/or customers that will be interested in your products or services.
2. Keep your link title brief and free of long sentences.
3. Try to keep your link description brief (aim for 200 characters or less).
4. Do not capitalize all letters in your link title or description.
5. Do not give the webmaster a deadline on when they should reciprocate. Webmasters are very busy people and it may take from 1 to 60 days or more. Be patient and in the long run you will receive more quality link partners!
6. Never remove a link partner from your site once they have agreed to exchange links with you and placed your link on their site.
7. Do not request link exchanges from sites that are unrelated to your website. For example, if you have a candle website, don’t exchange links with a pharmaceutical website. This will not benefit your customers or visitors and the search engines may penalize your website for this.
8. Let the webmaster know that you have indeed visited their site and explain to them why a reciprocal link exchange with your website would be beneficial.
9. Be sure that your link pages are search engine friendly. Link pages are easier indexed if they have no more than 25 links per page.
10. Complete your website before requesting reciprocal link exchanges. Most webmasters will not link to a site where most of the pages are “under construction”.
11. Do not give misleading information in your link exchange request. Most webmasters are not going to believe it and your request will most likely be ignored. For example, don’t claim that your site receives 100,000 unique visitors a day unless your site really receives that many.
12. It is best to categorize your link partners. For example, you might want to have a home and garden page, a home improvement page, a candles page, etc. This is a much better way or organizing your links for both your visitors and your link partners. If you just have one huge page of links in no order, most webmasters will not approve your link exchange request.
13. Make sure your links page is linked and visible from your home page.
14. If your site is family friendly, do not add link partners that offer services or products that are not family friendly.
15. Be aware of free-for-all link programs and link farms. These are sites that basically offer nothing but unrelated links and end up collecting and sharing your email address, which results in a lot of unwanted SPAM in your inbox.
The above tips are only a few suggestions on how to build a successful linking campaign. Most importantly, be patient and take your time to find quality link partners that will add a valuable resource and bring targeted traffic to your website.

Homeschooling - A Real Benefit
There are so many problems with our schools today that it can be a difficult choice to put your child on that bus each morning and send them away to an institution where it is likely little or no learning will take place throughout the day. Consider homeschooling your child. There are so many wonderful advantages.
One of the best things about homeschooling your child is the fact that you get to control what your children learn and when they learn it. There are so many worthless things being taught in our schools today. There are things your children shouldn’t be learning. There are certainly age appropriate things that school districts tend to think are appropriate at increasingly, and alarmingly, earlier ages. The ability to control this is a real plus to homeschooling. Another advantage to homeschooling is that you can show your children that learning is a fun, exciting process that they should continue for the remainder of their lives. The schools of today simply cannot meet this need for most children. You can also build a great relationship with your child through homeschooling that simply would not be possible if you continued to send them away from you each day. Moreover, no matter what your child’s strengths and weaknesses, you can give your child the personal attention they need in every subject area. If your child struggles with a particular subject, you can help them to understand the material better. If your child has an area he or she is great in, you can help them to further their knowledge. Finally, homeschooling allows you to protect your children from all of the negative things outside of your home. No longer will they have to be afraid of bullies at school. They will not have to see drug deals in front of their lockers. You will be able to keep them safe from many of the negative influences our school systems breed.
Consider homeschooling your child and you won’t regret your decision.

What Kind of Card User Are You?
Fortunately, you don’t have to find a card that has everything: a low fee, cheap rate, no extra fees, and a full grace period. Instead, the card you choose will depend on your personal credit habits. Which type of credit card user are you?
Credit User: You frequently carry a balance from month to month. You often pay only the minimum payment each month, or you pay partbut not allof the total bill at the end of the month.
Convenience User: You pay off your balance in full every month.
Combination User: You do some of each. You pay off your balance in full mostor at least halfof the time. You may carry a balance from time to time, but it’s usually paid off in several months at the most.
Choosing the Card for You
Credit Users should choose a card with the lowest interest rate they can find. If you are a credit user, the annual fee is nor as important as the interest rate, since you will likely benefit more from a low rate than a cheap fee. You don’t need a grace period on your card, since you do not take advantage of it.
Convenience Users should look for cards with low or free annual fees. If you are a convenience user, the interest rate is not of much importance to you, since you don’t revolve a balance. Make sure your cards carry interest-free grace periods. If there is no grace period, you are likely to wind up paying a bundle in monthly interest charges.
Combination Users must do a little math to make their decision. If you are a combination user, pull out your credit card statements from last year. If you don’t have them, look in your tax records for the year-end billing statements that listed how much interest you paid during the year. For each card, compare how much interest you paid, and how much you paid for the annual fee. If there is not much difference between the two, you can likely cut your costs in half by choosing a card with a similar interest rate and no annual fee. You will save even more if you choose a card with no annual fee and a low interest rate.
If, however, you find there is a large difference between the amount you paid in interest and the annual fee, then you should try to reduce the most expensive one first. If, for instance, your card carries a $25 annual fee, but you paid $85 in interest during the year, you should try to reduce the amount of interest you pay. Compare the interest rate on your card to other offers,

What Four-Letter Word Do You Use When Shelling Out The Money To
Pay For Heating Your Home These Days
As North American households face heating bills averaging at least 30 % higher than last year; the connection between household energy use and energy prices is evident to everyone.
Energy efficiency remains the quickest, cheapest, cleanest way to help you lower your home energy bills, extend the nations energy supplies, bring down energy costs and fatten your wallet.
Energy efficiency shouldn’t be a headache - in fact, it can be very rewarding. Not only is increasing the energy efficiency of your home a step toward better use of fuel and less pollution, it also offers you greater security and independence, lower energy bills and makes your home a more comfortable place to live.
Retrofitting energy efficiency can be expensive, but when you build a new house, it is relatively easy and cheap to make it energy efficient.
The task is achieved by marrying several of the latest technologies and developments in home construction.
The development and increasing use of Insulated Concrete Forms in construction is one of the main breakthroughs in high energy efficiency in new homes.
These “Forms” are Styrofoam (EPS) blocks that get filled with steel reinforced concrete and form the shape of the building. They double the insulation value, triple the sound resistance and quadruple the strength of the building.
Another important component in energy efficient homes is Radiant Floor Heating; which the industry claims will alone save you 20% on your annual heating bill. Not to mention that it gives you unprecedented comfort during those cold and long winter nights.
Add to this a High Efficiency Tank-Less Water Heater that can heat your whole house while giving you an endless stream of hot water; and the picture gets a little clearer.
Complete the package with a Heat Recovery Ventilator connected to a sophisticated “Earth Energy” system that uses a series of underground pipes in order to pre-condition the incoming air. This simple solution preheats your incoming air in the winter and pre-warms it in the summer.
Combine these four energy efficient breakthroughs and the result is a home that will slash at least 50% of your home heating bills as well as be your castle in a very real sense of the word.
A home that stands up to fire, noise, sun, wind, rain, snow, bugs, mould and inevitable Acts of God like, earthquakes and hurricanes;
A home that is safer, stronger and healthier than any other home you have ever seen; The only question left to answer is how much does it all cost? Your initial investment for this type of home is a little more ( approximately 10% more compared to conventionally built home) or considerably less when you think of long term costs, not only for you and your family but also for the planet we live on.
The “payback period” in fuel and maintenance would be between five to seven years but considering the alternative of keeping the status quo during predictions of a looming energy crisis, it is a very reasonable and logical solution.
When buying your new home, consciously choose to make informed decisions concerning the future of you and your family. A little bit of effort and common sense can go a long way in making your home more energy efficient and paying you dividends for years to come.

Explode Your Traffic and Sales!
Jupiter Communications, http://www.jup.com/home.jsp, estimates that by the year 2002, 25% of all Internet sales will be generated by affiliate programs!
That’s roughly works out to be over $10 Billion dollars!
Why is that important to you?
Because there is NO reason why you can not take advantage of this excellent technique to get FREE exposure for your web site and/or products and services.
It will only cost you AFTER you make a sale. And then it is only a percentage of the total sale.
An affiliate program can provide you with these benefits:
1. FREE Advertising.
People join affiliate programs to earn money.
You allow them to join for free and in return they become unpaid salespeople that spend their own time and efforts on promoting your product or service.
This is FREE online advertising at its’ best.
2. Pay money only AFTER you make money.
Your affiliates will promote your site for free and you won’t pay them a penny UNTIL they make a sale for you.
It is exactly like having hundreds of sales people working on straight commission and you don’t have to go through the tedious hiring process or pay employee benefits. 3. Fringe Benefits.
Here is an often-overlooked benefit of starting an affiliate program; FREE traffic to your web site.
Even if visitors sent to your web site via affiliates do not make a purchase of your product and/or services, there is a good possibility that they will at least subscribe to your FREE ezine, bookmark your site or access some other feature at your web site you did not anticipate.
Remember, you only pay your affiliates when you make money. Until then, you are getting loads of FREE traffic and exposure!
4. Your Ads Tested Free.
Your affiliates will test your ads for you.
You can write ads for them, but they place them for you and you measure the results. If your ads do not work, you lose nothing.
You can then work to improve and test the ads for FREE until they do work. You only pay commission to your affiliates after they sell your product or service.
5. Viral Marketing is Powerful.
If you start a two-tier affiliate program, your affiliates earn money on others who sign up under them. This brings you a steady flow of new sales reps to recruit more affiliates. This creates a viral marketing strategy with HUGE growth potential!
If one affiliate signs two others and they sign two others, etc.
6. Improved Search Engine Ranking.
Link popularity plays an important role in the ranking of your site on the major search engines, especially top ranked Google, http://www.google.com/. The more web sites that point to your domain, the higher your ranking will be.
7. Duplicate Your Efforts.
Every affiliate that joins your team will DUPLICATE your online business efforts for you. Instead of just one web site, yours, selling your product and/or service, you can have 100’s or perhaps even 1000’s of web sites all promoting your business.
How can you start your own affiliate program?
Our research did not find any free affiliate hosting services although just a few years ago there were many online.
But there are still many low cost options available to even those on a tight budget. These programs will quickly pay for themselves in the added revenues that they help generate for you.
For complete details, send a blank message to our Auto-Responder at: mailto:affiliates@emailexchange.org
You just can’t lose with an affiliate program.
No matter how you decide to handle your program, it will result in free exposure for your business.
Unlike one-time advertising campaigns, an affiliate program keeps working for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And, it has limitless growth potential.
Instead of you alone trying to push your product or service, you can have 10, 20 or even 200 affiliates spreading the word on what you have to offer.
Affiliates will “Explode Your Traffic and Sales!”

Joint Venture Marketing Not a Country Club
Joint Venture Marketing and business match making web sites and consultants are beginning to pop up all over the internet, and the affiliate marketing arena is leading the pack.
New arrivals to the internet marketing scene are reading the illustrious e-books on Joint Venture Marketing and devouring the promises of instant credibility and overnight profits. However, what many find out when getting to the web site promoted in many of these e-books, is yet another site filled with highly published names, but little substance.
Acceptance into the “Good Ole Boys” network charges fees that would rival many country clubs. But what do you get out of it? Is it worth $75.00 a month or more for the honor of rubbing elbows with top earners? Is there a service provided somewhere in all the hype?
As with anything you consider exchanging your dollars for, it’s a buyers beware situation. And again, educating yourself before plunking down your dollars is critical to finding successful joint ventures without having your wallet needlessly eviscerated.
Joint Venture Marketing is the temporary partnering with another entity for the mutual benefit of participating parties. It is a delicate, intricate and sometimes labor intensive construction of a relationship that has to be based on an element of trust. This isn’t done overnight, no matter what some e-books tell you. It can be enormously profitable, but your profits are reflected by the groundwork you put into it.
A Joint Venture, in the internet marketing arena could vary in nature, from something as simple as a link exchange, to a full blow agreement to promote a product to another party’s consumers. Finding a business that can exchange ads, endorsements, offer a testimonial or trade promotions of each other’s e-zine lists takes time and research.
Searching for joint venture marketing is akin to the singles dating scene for business. There is a matchmaking art to it that should be recognized and practiced. Some do’s and don’ts for your foray into joint ventures:
Don’t - just fire off generic letters of proposal to a mass of potential partners.
Do - Get to know your potential partner(s) before offering a deal. This means possibly signing up for their newsletter, or emailing them and showing an interest in their business. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Most businesses online will be flattered with genuine questions about their product or service.
Don’t - focus on yourself or your product when writing your proposals.
Do - Focus on the fulfillment of the needs of your PARTNER’S CLIENTS, in relation to your product. A person coming to you to buy a drill doesn’t want a drill, they want a hole. A person looking for insurance doesn’t want insurance, they want protection. A person looking to buy advertising doesn’t want advertising . . . they want SALES.
Don’t - Lay everything on the table in your first contact or email, even in the proposal itself. You are not placing an ad, so don’t write your proposal like a sales letter.
Do - Write a short, three to four paragraph proposal to include the BENEFIT to your potential partner’s clients, and the benefit to your potential partner (is it splitting profits on the sale, or exchanging endorsements). You can work out the details later if he is interested. Get something in agreement in writing before allowing the promotion to take place.
Allow your potential partner to ask questions about your service as well as yourself. He is considering endorsing your product to a client base that he’s worked hard to acquire. Therefore, he also needs to be able to trust you and your ability to deliver. Don’t be offended. This is a positive sign! Reply with empathy.
If designed properly, a joint venture marketing deal can open many doors for you, not only in sales, but in building a business ally, acquiring new clients, expanding services and appeal for your potential partner, as well as saving you money in advertising costs.
Haphazardly diving into joint venture deals can also result in stolen ideas or a ruined reputation. All sides of the deal must do their homework on respective members of the deal, and the product being presented. A bad deal can cause backlash for both parties.
I have participated in partnerships that have netted me thousands in sales in a short amount of time. I have also been a victim of a bad deal that killed one of my affiliate programs. I could run a graph of the varying experiences I’ve had, but the bottom line is this . . .
The reason Joint Venture Marketing is so appealing is because it works. If approached professionally and researched thoroughly, a joint venture deal can effectively launch your new business, obtain more sales in a shorter amount of time and enhance your credibility while significantly reducing your advertising costs. Of all the methods of advertising and marketing online today, it is probably the least risky in terms of ROI (return on investment).
If you are unsure about how to approach a deal, then get some help. There are services online that will broker a deal for you, or match your particular product or service to other complimentary businesses out there. If you are new to this, it is worth it to use these services.
Find a brokering service that will walk you through deals, so that you can learn and eventually find deals on your own. Do a search on “Business Matchmaking”, “Joint Venture Brokers”, or “Joint Venture Marketing Dealmakers”. However, you will want to take the same due diligence before laying down your money.
Some business matchmaking services will charge you a monthly fee that usually runs about the same as a dating site. Other services will only charge you a small percentage of the profits generated. Others will charge you an up-front fee or all of the above.
Find what you need, email them and research any service. Ask for referrals. Inquire on their record. There are good services out there and it pays to use them if you feel you need some help getting started.
I highly advocate Joint Venture Marketing, if treated as a professional marketing technique and not a punch-line. It’s not a country club for the self-exploited internet marketers. It’s a viable and highly profitable alternative to the ever-increasing cost of marketing your business. Handle it with care.
Bonnie manages a joint venture marketing membership site where she assists new product development and marketing through writing articles, press releases and matching potential partners at http://www.trinityonlinemarketingschool.com

Innovation And The Challenge Of Growth
Constant innovation is a characteristic of most successful growing companies. Competitive advantage requires inventiveness at individual, group, and company levels. As companies grow, market demands and competition will force them to maintain a culture of continuous innovation. Growth, however, also creates a need for structure and control, which can make a culture of innovation difficult to sustain.
Loss of flexibility
Sustainable growth requires increased operational scale, but companies cannot scale their operations effectively without implementing formal structures and processes. Growth can strain the entrepreneurial philosophy that has fuelled a company’s success. More importantly, it can erode corporate flexibility. As management layers increase, they create pockets of data, knowledge, and intelligence that can complicate a company’s decision-making processes.
Aversion to risk
Developing new ideas is a risk-intensive process that requires significant resources. As companies grow, their risk profile becomes more conservative as shareholders expect them to stabilise operations and manage their business according to (rigid) financial criteria.
Friction between cultures
As companies grow, they require people who can guide them through each stage of their organisational development. However, companies also have to evolve to meet changing internal and external priorities. As a result, a company’s culture is pulled two ways. Established employees may be used to a stable and familiar environment, and newer employees who have a different mindset, a higher tolerance for risk, and place less value on organisational structure. Left unchecked, this dichotomy can cause a company’s culture to be dictated by employee self-interest rather than corporate objectives.
Rising to the challenge
Sustaining an innovative culture requires companies to create environments where creative thinking is central to corporate values, actions, and assumptions. Innovative companies require employees who seek new opportunities, accept risk, collaborate well with others, and commit themselves to the organisation. Innovative companies also require leaders that will work to create those kinds of environments and will guide and promote innovative behaviour. Finding these leaders is often the most difficult challenge that a company will face during a period of growth.
