How to be a Good Spokesman
A battle is won when a leader is successful. We can find a large number of examples in World history. Today we can also see that the statement is quite true. There will never be a result if the lead is taken by a weak personality who doesn’t know the meaning of the word “leadership”. Nowadays people elect their leaders considering their qualities and thinking about the result of their choice. People usually prefer a strong-willed, intelligent, active, ambitious person to be their leader and perform different duties. There is no other way to show these traits but to express them orally or on the paper to be forwarded to voters. Once being elected you must know how to express the point of view of others and to represent their interests properly. To do the above-mentioned you have to be a nice orator and easily hold the attention of a crowd. To be a good leader you are to be politically literate. There is nothing in this life that could do without politics and this is a well-known fact. Becoming a part of the governmental system you are to represent the ideas of those who had voted for you. To be successful in this field you are to be rather persuasive and very industrious in proving your idea.
If to break a word “spokesman” apart, we get “spokes” which is, without doubt related to the verb “to speak” and “man” that identifies a person who speaks. The definition is - a man who expresses an opinion. One has to be really talented, even gifted to achieve a proper result by expressing his point of view and trying to persuade others that your statements are true. The task of a spokesman is not only to speak out in public, but to prepare the basic information on what you consider to be right and to distribute it among the voters for them to get a general idea. This is where you’ll need the skills to write a persuasive essay. The main tasks of the essay you write is to persuade voters that your idea, opinion or any other statement that you venture to express is worth voting for and sticking to. For doing this you need to structure it right and know some of the ways to highlight the main idea. You make up a couple of statements that show the main idea and build an essay around, using as many facts to support as it is only possible. The more persuasive essays you write, the more experienced you become in convincing others. There have to be no contradictions to your own words and certainly no lies. It is pretty easy to check if the fact that you use is true. And if it’s not, it is not going to give you a bonus in your voters’ eyes.
It is also necessary to avoid strong verbs, though it is possible if you use the so called “shock therapy”, so popular among some leaders to catch a person unawares and make him think your way. Though it is considered to be wrong to make somebody change one’s lifestyle, playing with his/her thoughts and ways of thinking, spokesmen usually use this technique to be sure of the effect of their creation. It is so easy to play around with basic needs of people and the way they can be satisfied. It also can be used in your persuasive essay. After considering some of the facts, we can see that to be a leader and a spokesman one has to possess a lot of skills. And one more important thing, except unique talent in writing and being an orator; a good spokesman will never betray the hope of those who ventured to vote for you.

People Of Nature
Pollution nowadays affects everyone,
The day makes not so lively.
It kills the nature gradually
I’m afraid for the coming day.
Why do you not afraid? Why do you not aware?
Everything around you is at your command
You are human that can make anything you want
So defend your right.
Our environment waits for you to move,
The nature call for you to give,
This mother earth needs a human to create,
Let us be the one to forgive.
Dirty air, dirty water, unpleasant surroundings, can you stay?!
Conserving and preserving is great
Fellowing the act is the best
So there’s no reason to sacrifice the day.
Wake up and rise,
What are you waiting for?
Your beloved nature cries.
Help it to survive.

Buying a Glass Rack: the Things You Must Know about Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel &Amp; Aluminum Glass Racks
Owning a glass transportation rack is quite a bit different from acquiring another kind of glass handling equipment. While the glass business evolves, the handling tools that makes it possible, has as well.
The effective, controlled delivery and shipping of commercial glass and its many services, created the numerous types of glass transportation racks products to meet these needs.
With the huge number of products possible, an informed study considering your glass projects unique requirements is your first step to purchasing a glass truck. Even though its easy to get a commercially-available glass rack from many manufacturers, for no added cost you can create a custom glass rack built to meet your exact needs.
Coming up with a few requirements in a few areas will assist you choose the chassis and body combination that will maximize your glass rack and truck.
Keep in mind that bodies can normally outlast two or three chassis. Thinking ahead that far takes a good deal of consideration because the rack body must be remounted to a certain chassis type design. The chassis type will also determine major considerations of the body design including ledge width, payload, and rack size.
Glass racks usually are common in two or three base materials: aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel. All of these comes with benefits and drawbacks.
Carbon Steel is the cheapest rack type, but it is likely to result in unnecessary maintenance costs to keep it shiny and in good shape, which can be a challenge in corrosiveclimates.
Aluminum racks are popular for their lightweight characteristics. When fully anodized or painted, it will keep its shine for years without minimum maintenance. The material cost quite a bit more than steel, and more difficult to repair.
Stainless Steel is the best choice for buyers concerned with durability and anti-corrosive materials. Should the steel be gauged correctly, steel should prove many years of low upkeep and enduring product life cycle. Due to the materials corrosion proof quality, etching the exposed steel for painting is a problem, and so the glass rack bodies are not painted. A brushed finish look is a steel racks usual look. Steels only drawback at this point is its high purchase price.

How To Write for the Web
The Scanning Reader
Writing for the Web is different than writing for print. The differences are slight but significant. First, people don’t really read online; they scan because of what is called the “flicker rate” of a computer monitor. This means people read 25% slower online than in print publications. What does this mean for you as a writer? It means you have to write differently to connect with readers.
Begin at the End
Writing for the Web is like good journalism. Use the old, “Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How” journalistic formula when you write for the web. This is called the inverted pyramid. Put your conclusion at the beginning and then write the details. The Web is a no-nonsense, grab-it-and-go, and give-it-to-me-now medium. You must connect with a reader immediately or you lose them.
Write Chunky
Since the reader is scanning rather than reading you must break your text down into bite size portions. You’ll notice this article has short, chunky segments. Each segment only needs 75 words or less. This opens up the white space surrounding the text and provides comfortable reading. Chunky writing takes some practice but it is quite easy. When you write chunky, create strong headlines and subheadings. Make your main points and move the reader along. Also, use short bulleted or numbered lists like this:
Bullets
- Numbers
- More numbers
- Still more numbers
See how the text opens up and moves along?
Sail the High Cs
There are four C words you need to know when writing for the Web.
Concise
Write tight. Keep it short. Eliminate unnecessary words.
Clear
Use precise words. Get specific and avoid generalizations.
Clean
Avoid excessive clutter in your writing. Pick up the litter of too many -ly words and put them in the wastebasket. Empty “that” into the dumpster unless you have to keep it. Then keep only what you need.
Credible
Write with honesty and integrity. Nothing is wrong with marketing but readers recognize slick, manipulative tactics. Write from your heart, even in advertising, and you will reach readers.
K.I.S.S.
Keep It Simple Sweetheart! The last “S” was changed intentionally to a term ala Humphrey Bogart. Because you should never, ever insult your readers’ intelligence. But at the same time, write in easy-to-understand terms and your readers will love you for it. And they will keep reading what you write. Every writer needs a good vocabulary but that doesn’t mean it should be used to make readers feel unlearned or uneducated.
The bottom line? Keep it simple, encourage and inform your readers with short, clear, crisp writing. Then you will enjoy success as a great web writer!

How to Write a Million Dollar Sales Letter
When you consider that the average successful letter gets about a 0.02% response, Barton clearly leaped past anyone else in his letter writing skills. But what was his secret?
After studying Barton’s letters, books, private memos, speeches, and advertising campaigns, I’ve discovered Barton’s method. I’ve used his technique to write my own letters and I’ve been astonished at the results. One letter got a 20% response. Another nailed a 10% response. Still another is approaching a 97% response (ninety-seven per cent!)! (It, too, is in The Seven Lost Secrets Of Success.)
I will now reveal the technique I’ve been using: Bruce Barton’s “Secret Formula.”
Barton said that good advertising copy (and letters are advertisements) had to be three things: (1) Brief. (2) Simple. (3). Sincere. In an eye-opening essay he wrote back in 1925, Barton said the following:
About Brevity:
“About sixty years ago two men spoke at Gettysburg; one man spoke for two hours. I suppose there is not any one who could quote a single word of that oration. The other man spoke about three hundred words, and that address has become a part of the school training of almost every child.”
About Simplicity:
“I think it might be said, no advertisement is great that has anything that can’t be understood by a child of intelligence. Certainly all the great things in life are one-syllable things — child, home, wife, fear, faith, love, God.”
About Sincerity:
“I believe the public has a sixth sense for detecting insincerity, and we run a tremendous risk if we try to make other people believe in something we don’t believe in. Somehow our sin will find us out.”
Let’s look at these three steps a little more closely.
Brevity. A short letter isn’t necessarily what Barton meant. I’ve read many of his letters and memos. Most of them were so brief they were blunt. But those were not sales letters. When Barton wanted to persuade you to donate money to a good cause or buy something he was selling, his letters were longer, sometimes several pages long. (Again, see that sample letter in The Seven Lost Secrets Of Success.) Barton knew you had to give people a complete explanation before they would buy.
Simplicity. Barton’s letters were always simple and easy to read. He strove for clarity of communication. No big words, long sentences, or convoluted passages. He was clear and direct and conversational.
Sincerity. Barton was always sincere. He once dropped a million dollar advertising account because he didn’t support the client. That sincerity came through in everything he wrote. Readers could pick up on it.
Finally, Barton’s letters were “… phrased in terms of the other man’s interest.” Barton said your letters had to go straight to the reader’s selfish interest. He said the favorite song of every reader is “I Love Me.” As Barton said in 1924, “The reader is interested first of all in himself… Tie your appeal up to his own interests.”
The next time you have to write a sales letter, consider Barton’s formula. It helped him write letters that are still talked about today, and it helps me write letters that are making my clients rich. Now use it and see what the formula will do for YOU!

Media Training Magic
Whether you’re doing your first interview or your fiftieth, you can never prepare enough for a radio or TV appearance. If you’ve never been media trained or coached before and you’re seeking a steady stream of broadcast media, then you might want to consider this valuable component.
AME talks with producers across the US regularly, and they reveal that authors are not typically the best interviewees. Usually they are timid, shy, even less than forthcoming with the information they are asked to present. What’s more, some novice authors lack one big thing: enthusiasm!
Who’s kidding whom? If you’re not enthusiastic about your book, how can you expect the audience to give one iota of their attention to you? Passion sells. Exhibit your passion for your book or topic and your book will fly off the shelves. But, sit back, shy and somewhat indifferent, and even with the best book in world, chances are no one will be intrigued enough to buy it. This is true no matter how big the show or how great your book. Even an appearance on Oprah has been known to bring dismal sales when the author is a sleeper. You invested enough time to craft your story, and now is the time to share your zeal, joy, and message with the world. The fun is just beginning. Boast a little; be proud!
Next, you’ll want to ask yourself a few questions. Your own questions that is–you know the ones you included in your media kit. Do these questions make sense? Are they still relevant today and for this audience/show? Are they fresh and interesting? Think “Tom Brokaw” if you have a topic with the potential for controversy you can bet the interviewer is going to tap into this. Be prepared, or be prepared to be taken by surprise.
During the interview, the interviewer may or may not follow your questions. Often, they’ll flex their own interviewing skills and throw you a curve-ball or a sinker. We’re not talking controversy here, but just enough of a curve ball to get you off-track. Before you start any interview, make sure you know your three most important pointscold, backwards and forwards. What’s your mission/Why did you write your book? These are the points that, in the absence of anything else, you want to make sure you makethe points that are designed to make the audience remember you and [hopefully] buy your book. Also, keeping your end goals in mind will help you stay on track and realign an interview that’s been derailed.
Never expect that the interviewer has read your book. In fact, you’ll be lucky if they even received their copy even a half hour prior to the interview. Still, it will be your job to make the interviewer look good, it’s the host’s show and it’s your job #1 to be a good guest and make the host look like a hero for inviting you to appear on the air. Even if the host asks you a question completely unrelated to your topic, acknowledge it, answer it if you can and get them back on track without “showing them up.” If you can’t answer the question, say, “I don’t know but I can certainly check on this and get back to you.”
Finally remember that you’re going to make mistakeseveryone does, even the pros. Just smile right through them, and promise yourself to do better next time. Keep in mind when you’re planning your media campaign to get your feet wet regionally first before dipping your toe into the national media pool. Why? No self-respecting producer will feature a “green” author. In other words, if you haven’t paid your dues regionally or spent some serious money getting media-trained you won’t attract the attention of a major show. Media draws media. The more you do, the more you’ll do.

From Idea to Published Book … How to Self-Publish the Easy
I’ve been involved in publishing for over a decade now as an author, editor, and project manager; however, it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I decided to move into self-publishing. Indeed, my first few projects involved consulting for others and, now, I am involved in my own, personal projects. It has taken a while for me to come back around to my own works, but in the process I learned how to minimize time and expenses in producing a book and getting it to market.
This short article will not try to explain every aspect of book publishing in detail, but it will brush on a few of the important topics. I have a few other book projects in the making that will detail the book self-publishing process; however, in the mean time, this should give you a good basis of understanding.
— The Idea —
The most difficult part of creating your manuscript is deciding on the topic. We all have ideas. It’s part of our being. Ideas pop in and out of our heads all day long; however, we usually dismiss many of them as useless or too simple to be of use. You would be surprised at how many people want “simple” and easy-to-understand information! Readers want books that teach, inform, and entertain.
When you sit down and really think about all you’ve learned throughout your life, you’ll be amazed at how much you really know! Your life experiences alone could fill a library! Even if you feel that you don’t have any knowledge that would be of interest to anyone, you can start small. Research a market that interests you, find your competition, learn all that you can about a specific subject, and then write about it. Your ideas are important, as your knowledge and point-of-view are unique and of interest to others.
— Planning the Product —
I always suggest keeping your book concise and informative. This provides a small footprint, yet it also allows your readers to purchase your book at a reasonable price. Keep it around 100 pages, which, once in book format, equals about 50, two-sided pages.
The core content of the manuscript consists of a title page, copyright, table of contents, figure and table references, acknowledgements, forwards, content, appendices, index, and back page. This list is the basic minimum requirements to support the information necessary to present your book and its content. Of course, you can add other items such as a glossary and a preface, but such inclusions are at your discretion.
It is best to produce your book in the standard 5.5″ by 8.5″ format in both print and PDF. I always suggest PDF to my publishing clients because it is one of the few cross-platform (i.e., Mac, PC, PDA, and UNIX-based machines) document distribution products available today and it is the most popular.
— The Manuscript —
Once you’ve focused on an idea, you’ll have to create an outline or table of contents to define the content. The best way I’ve found to do this is to break the idea down into blocks of contiguous information — similar to assembling a pyramid. Step through your idea and ensure that you are building from, for example, the most general information to the most specific information. Check the outline several times, and have a friend review it, to ensure that gaps are filled in appropriately.
You can actually over-rewrite your work to the point of frustration and burn-out. Ensure that you’ve planned and researched appropriately to provide a solid foundation. In this way you can develop a first draft and then perform substantive and grammar edits. Then, perform a technical edit and a second draft. Once the second draft is complete, move into a final copy edit then, once you produce galleys or a sample version of the finished book, perform a proof read. Don’t rework any of the core steps of document development, but ensure that each step is completed with quality in mind. This ensures a solid product in a short amount of time. If you would like to update or add to the information in your first release, provide a follow-up revision.
— ISBN and Copyright —
Once you’ve started your manuscript, order your group of ISBNs. You can sign up for your ISBNs at http://www.isbn.org for about $240 for 10 ISBNs. However, additional fees can be imposed based on express orders. This is why I say, order the ISBNs while you’re writing the manuscript so that you can afford to wait the 10 days for standard, free, delivery.
You will have to convert your ISBN numbers to EAN barcodes to apply to the back page of your book. The barcode must consist of the ISBN you assigned to the book as well as the coded pricing of the book. You can have a vendor generate the barcodes for between $3 (http://www.toupin.com/serv_writing.asp) and $20 per barcode or you can download and use the Barcode Maker (http://hem.passagen.se/sams/barcode.htm) to generate your own barcodes. For the price, it will pay for itself in just a few ISBNs for your books.
Once you have assigned one of your ISBNs to a book, you can register it in Books In Print (http://www.booksinprint.com/bip/). This is how booksellers are able to access your information and sell your book through their outlets. Additionally, you’ll want to register your manuscript-in-progress with the Library of Congress Cataloguing in Publication (http://cip.loc.gov/cip/ecipp14.html). This registers your book for access by libraries and government archives. You will be e-mailed the “CIP data” to be printed on the copyright page following the heading “Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data”.
To protect your work and ideas, copyrighting your book is a simple and inexpensive process. There are actually several different methods of protecting your work including government and commercial organizations. The primary sites are the government copyright office (http://www.copyright.gov/forms/) and WriteSafe (http://www.writesafe.com/).
— Production —
There are many different ways to produce your books; however, costs range from a $1,000 initial setup plus the purchase of a few hundred copies down to no setup fees and pay-as-you-go. The final choice is yours, but my direction involved a local printing company and a pay-as-you-go scheme. With this approach, reduced initial costs are reflected back to the readers and your profit potential is seen immediately.
Three places that I’ve experimented with to print some of my books include Kinko’s (http://www.kinkos.com/), InstantPublisher (http://instantpublisher.com/pricing.htm), and Mimeo (http://www.mimeo.com/). Of course, use these for starters to experiment with your books. Eventually, you’ll find the right bindery for your needs. You can locate many publishers via Google.com or AllTheWeb.com using keywords such as “online printing”, “book printing”, and “print on demand”, but once you get some experience behind you, the choice will be much easier.
— Marketing and Distribution —
Once you assign and register your ISBN for your manuscript, it becomes available to the multitude of book stores around the globe including Amazon, Borders, Barnes&Noble, and various other major book sellers. Now that you have your book out there, the trick is to have people purchase the book and have book stores stock copies on their shelves.
To have the book stores purchase in quantity, you’ll have to devise a solid marketing plan to their acquisitions personnel. In many cases, book stores will simply sell your book to their customers as it is requested, but if you can get them to buy in bulk, that’s greater exposure and sales for you!
You can also license out the content to various professional speakers. Speakers are always looking for ways to provide quality information specific to their presentations. They might use your content in a handout, or perhaps for sale in the back of the room. Locate those speakers that fit within your audience and contact them. Find out their needs for their next presentation and work out a deal for them to resell your books. I’ve had many speakers use my articles in their presentations and the exposure and feedback has been overwhelming.
Of course, you should always locate affiliates to help sell your books. One way is to offer them a percentage of the gross sales or sell them copies of the books at a discount. Either way, you will have “agents” out pushing your books for you to make money for them, as well as for you.
Always provide a web site that boasts the benefits of your book. Use a book cover maker to create a book image on the web site. One quality book cover creator is called CoverFactory (http://www.ans2000.com/a2k_coverfactory.php) and provides numerous capabilities to generate professional looking covers for books, software, and services.
Free content is an important way to bring people to your site and let people know about your book. You can provide rewritten excerpts from your book as articles and submit them to various article announcement lists, press release sites, zines, and directories. I’ve been able to locate and associate with over 1,000 sites and lists that accept and publish my articles. This provides outstanding coverage for my sites, services, and products.
— Sales and Returns —
Since you are the publisher, you now have to determine how to handles sales. It’s important to define how you will handle direct sales and shipping, bulk sales, and affiliates. You want to ensure that your sales go smoothly as well as provide enough of a margin so that everyone profits.
When collecting funds, it’s important to accept credit cards through one of the popular merchant vendors. To minimize expenses and provide a common and secure payment mechanism, I use StormPay (http://www.stormpay.com) and PayPal (http://www.paypal.com). Since people have their likes and dislikes of online payment vendors, using both allows many different types of users to submit payments. Of course, you must always determine how to handle returns as part of a quality customer service program.
— What’s next? —
Obviously, the information provided here is merely an overview of the entire process. However, I am working on a book that provides all of the details of producing your own book under your own imprint. Publishing provides excellent return monetarily as well as through enhanced self-esteem. There is quite a feeling that comes with getting your message out there and having people return positive feedback. Perhaps, once you self-publish a few of your own titles, you can work on publishing other authors and open a full-fledged publishing house. In this day, such a venture is not unheard of!

Do you want to write a Best-seller (Part 2)
“If a man has talent and cannot use it, he has failed.”Tom Wolfe
In the first installment of this essay, we said that if you want to excel as a writer, you would not only have to write on a best-selling topic, but that you would also have to master your style, and know your audience. But that is not all. What is more?
Write your Style
A writer said: “All authors are like mounds of literature. They grow from the light of the ancient.” But is true that all writers are copycats?
Not really. You might have a favorite author, or another writer would have influenced your work. But one thing is clear: no one in this universe is your equal. You are unique.
That means your writing style has to be different from mine. It is for this reason that an editor at Random House who saw a typed copy of The Thirty-Nine Steps as a new book had no difficulty in likening it to the style of Jerzy Kosinski. But sad enough, he didn’t know it really was the author’s book.
When you speak in a foreign voice, a discerning listener would have no difficulty recognizing you as a hypocrite. In the same way, when you borrow another author’s style, a good reader will equally know that you are masquerading. And that is not good enough for you.
Promote your book before and after publication
The best time to begin your book’s promotion is when you start writing it. This is the right time for you to make use of some of the promotional options discussed earlier in this book. This means that you can start your media adverts, book reviews, and the serialization of your story. Then keep record of contacts from readers and bookstore owners who are interested in your work. Send them a press release as soon as your book is released and see the response that you will get.
This book that you are reading started that way when it was first published as an e-book. When the author contacted his initial list of potential buyers after the book’s release, he had tremendous response. Why don’t you do the same? If it worked for him, it will work for you.
Pre-release publicity has helped writers sell tremendously when their books were made available to the public. For instance, Tom Wolfe’s book, A Man In Full sold over a million copies before anyone could say Jack Robinson.
But do not just promote your book. HYPE IT! That is what they all do. Let them know that your book is the greatest thing to happen in the world in this millennium. Tell them that your work will make writers like Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Tom Wolfe, Salman Rushdie, and J.K. Rowling look like Lilliputians. You won’t be docked for perjury.
The fact is that people will believe anything as much as they hear it often. Ask advertisers. And then on the date of your book’s release, readers will queue up before book stores to behold the Brobdingnagian of English literature.
Time your book’s release
It is better to tie in your book’s release to an event. The last quarter of the year (Sept. —Dec.) is the best time to do so. The reason is that at this time, booksellers stock their stores for the expected mass yuletide sales while friends use this period to buy books and give their friends.
J.K. Rowling chose to release her Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in the midnight of June 21, 2004. There could have been no better time than that witching hour. And before children in an English spelling class could spell best-seller the book has sold over 5 million copies making it the fastest and biggest selling book in the world! Even if Rowling topples her record in the next series, why not publish your best-seller and overturn the record.
(To be continued)

Buying Business Cover Is Absolutely Crucial to the Operation of Your Business
There is no question the fact that the success or failure of a business ultimately is due to the dedicated work of the staff, but one disaster can easily wipe out all your work & reduce the financial profits to zero. In order to evade such an instance, you should insure your company, whether it is a small business or an international corporation. However, please note that smaller firms are more likely to require business insurance protection in today’s busy world. This is preliminary because smaller company owners will have put their complete lives and pay cheque straight into the organisation.
Some of the items generally protected by most business insurance covers comprise of: natural catastrophes, avalanches, mechanism or apparatus failure that closes down the firm, loss of money owing to staff failure & court cases brought against the firm.
There are a great number of insurance firms, which have policies that include both protection for all key property and liability risks in one package. You can also select a separate policy. Such a policy is branded as a business owners’ policy (BOP). Large sized companies may procure a commercial policy cover. Protect yourself against legal action with professional indemnity insurance.
BOPs integrate office insurance for property and tools belonging to the business. If there is any loss of earnings due to disruption of processes and business because of accidents such as landslides, it can be covered under the Business Interruption Insurance.
There are an assortment of liabilities, which protects the firm’s legal duty for the injury it might inflict to others. It’s the effect your organisation’s failure to do the business operations.
