Great Tennis Contacts for You on the Courts
The Tennis League Network runs a collection of city based internet sites where we connect participants on the courts.
Here are some of the metropolises in our network:
Orlando Tennis, Houston Tennis, Seattle Tennis
Our playoffs Run after every league.
How do the Playoffs Run?
We use the playoff system to determine who is the overall winner of the season. Its a single elimination tournament where we will eventually have one champion.
Tourney are Skill Level Based
Tourney are skill level based; in most types we only Run 1 division for each skill level. So the qualifying players from the division will be placed in one tournament bracket. But, in some cases we have multiple divisions of the same level.
Seedings & Brackets
We present all the participants on the League report pages. League Rule #10 is used to determine the seedings:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular season ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on tennis matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 tennis matches over, 8-2 is 6 tennis matches over and would be better.
2) In season Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing tennis matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) Percentage of games won
Say Five participants qualify. In a 5 person single elimination bracket the #1 qualifier will have a first round bye while qualifiers #4 and #5 play a quarter final match where the winner will play the #1 seed in the semi-finals. Seeds #2 and #3 will play in the other semi-final match. The winners of the two semi-finals tennis matches will play for the championship.
Scheduling & Deadlines
The scheduling of the matches follows the same arrangement as the league as we really want the participants to agree on a mutual time and location to play. We do have a rule where the higher seed does have choice of tennis court. Also the higher seed has choice of serve or side to start the match.
Prize Pool & National Tournament
Once a winner has been crowned we use the league prize kitty to reward the players of the playoffs. The prize pool is based upon the total # of participants in the division of the tournament.
* They will also be seeded according to Rule #10 indifferent of which level the wins came from.
